Flexible working is becoming increasingly popular as we try to find a new normal.
The initial lockdown in the UK saw the hurried movement of staff from an office environment to make-shift home offices. In many cases, employers had to try and support staff to work from home, providing ad hoc solutions for a quick fix.
However, as the situation around the pandemic continues, it is becoming clear that these temporary solutions may need to be a little more permanent. Some staff will be working from home for the foreseeable future, whereas others will need to split their time between home and the office.

Here, we discuss 3 benefits of business broadband that could be available to you… For example, you can opt for a more advanced firewall and you’ll also receive a better level of service.
1. Service
With business broadband, you can often expect to receive higher levels of service than you can with standard home packages. At Roda, this means that you have a dedicated support team on hand during our office hours, to assist you with any issues that you might have. For example, if you should experience any downtime, we will be able to work towards getting your broadband back up and running.

What is a Leased Line?
Too often, businesses suffer at the hands of unreliable broadband connections. This can cost them time, money and productivity.
A leased line gives your business a dedicated internet connection. Your connection with a leased line will therefore be more reliable. Plus, your whole team will be able to undertake a multitude of tasks seamlessly.

In our previous post, we gave you an overview of the ISDN switch-off. Anyone in the UK who uses a traditional telephone line currently, or has their broadband via the old copper lines, will be affected when this service is ceased in 2025.
Although it sounds like it’s just another job to add to your ever-growing to-do list, this could be really beneficial for your business…

Openreach is in the process of preparing for the withdrawal of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). This is also known as the ‘ISDN switch-off’. The current telephone network will not be supported past the end of 2025.
By the end of 2025, all voice services will have to run on top of a broadband connection. Landlines are being used less and less, yet it remains costly to maintain the traditional copper phone network.

Fibre broadband across the UK
Fibre Broadband is being implemented across the UK. In fact, 95% of the country can already access the improved speeds that fibre brings. This widely accessible fibre broadband is also known as FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet). While this can provide a more reliable connection, with speeds of up to 80Mbps, there is more modern technology, providing even faster speeds, out there. You can find a breakdown of the different types of broadband on our recent blog post.
