Upgrade to Fibre Broadband
Although many are still working from home, now may be the perfect time to upgrade the broadband in your business. Faster and more reliable broadband could be yours ready for when staff return to the office!
What are the benefits of full fibre broadband?
Not paying for phone lines
The fibre network does not require use of the old copper ISDN, so you do not need to pay for line rental on top of the internet. If you require voice services, these will become an ‘over-the-top’ service that you can opt to add on; e.g. VoIP.
Faster speeds
Full fibre broadband can provide much faster speeds than ADSL or FTTC; perfect for multitasking in the office. Not only is it quicker, but it is also more reliable than traditional broadband.
Can support cloud services such as Office Suites and VoIP
As staff start to move back into the office, video calling to external companies could continue to be popular. Make sure you have the infrastructure in place to support the shift in how we work.
Embracing new technologies
The ISDN will be turned off at the end of 2025. If you’re still using a traditional phone system, or the technology that goes along with it, you will need to make changes. Why not make those changes now and embrace the new technology that’s available, along with all of its additional benefits.
When can I get FTTP?
Openreach is working to provide FTTP to 3.2 million more homes and businesses. Some of those, right here in South Yorkshire.
Currently, there are areas across Sheffield, Rotherham and Doncaster with a status of ‘In Plan or In Progress’ or ‘Due to start build within next 3 months’. You can see a map of Openreach’s rollout on their website.
