      The Samsung Unpacked event took place on 11th February. They had some incredible announcements to make and we’ve summed them up for you right here…

      Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra

      These handsets have been designed around the camera. This is such an essential part of many people’s day to day life now. From sharing pictures of trips with friends to video calling loved ones. The camera features include:

      • Single Take: Uses AI to shoot for up to 10 seconds and give you back a range of formats so that you can choose the best version for the occasion.
      • Shoot videos in incredible 8K.
      • Take 33MP stills from 8K videos.
      • AI to stabilise action videos.

      In addition to the camera, there are a range of other features that come with the new Galaxy S20 range too.

      • Largest battery yet at 5000mAh: uses optimisation to ensure it lasts all day and has quick charging.
      • Security infused into devices with Samsung Knox.
      • 5G ready.
      • Storage: Up to 512GB internal and up to 1TB via Micro SD.
      • Samsung partnership with Google: Google Duo will be integrated to certain apps on the devices.
      • Samsung and Microsoft partnership: expanding to Xbox making it a great option for gamers.

      Galaxy Z Flip

      The Galaxy Z Flip is arguably one of the best looking foldable devices that is on the market at the minute. Its sleek design and new features catch your eye instantly.

      The freestop folding technology allows you to unfold and stand your phone like a laptop. This means that you can use it hands-free. Or, utilise the split screen technology and use the interactive bottom half of the screen while viewing content on the top half.

      Galaxy Buds +

      As part of the show, Samsung also announced the release of their new Galaxy buds. Features include:

      • Improved sound quality.
      • More speakers; one for high sounds and one for bass.
      • Improved for calling with 3 microphones.
      • Let you switch quickly between devices – no need to unpair & repair.
      • They work seamlessly with iOS.
      • Wireless charging & power share. They last 11 hours on full charge, and with the power in the case, last a total 22 hours.
      • Samsung’s partnership with Spotify means that one long press will play you a new song from your Spotify recommendations.

      Samsung have brought lots of exciting new features to the table in this update. They have also indicated that some of these new features will be available in the S10 range with future software updates.
