The recent Apple event launched the new range of products. Here’s a summary of what they announced.
iPhone 12 Pro & iPhone 12
Apple now have a 5G offering. The iPhone 12s are both 5G ready and home to a new A14 Bionic chip. There are a range of sizes available, with the iPhone 12 Pro Max at 6.7”, to the iPhone 12 mini at 5.4”. The Pro version offers a Pro camera system, more advanced sensors and a higher performance battery.
The most obvious difference between the two models is the colours, with the 12 available in Black, White, Red, Blue and Green, and the 12 Pro in Silver, Graphite, Gold and Pacific Blue.
The iPhone 12 comes with a circle of built-in magnets in the back of the phone. This enables you to use the new MagSafe accessories. The brand new wireless charger allows you to charge any iPhone from the iPhone 8 onwards, and it also works with compatible AirPods.
Further accessories include cases and card wallets in a range of colours.
The HomePod mini is a small speaker that packs a punch. You can use multiple HomePods to play the same songs through different rooms, or different songs in each room. It works with your current Apple devices, including iPhone, Macs and your TV, plus it has Siri. You can simply trigger it using ‘Hey Siri’.
The HomePod mini is more than just a speaker. It can work with your devices so that you can add items to a shopping list, or use the intercom feature to send a message to another room in the house.
